KOnnichiwa minna-san~
I'm about to blog about one of the things that makes Asian culture so special! FOOD!!! In this particular blogpost I'll be suggesting some good Japanese and Korean restaurants to dine at in Malaysia (yes my blog has suddenly become this little tourist/local information corner hahaha~).
So where to??? First place on the list is Yuzu KLCC~Yuzu is a japanese restaurant located on the top floor of KLCC. The restaurant is coloured in orange paint (or it could possibly be wallpaper...hmm) because 'yuzu' in japanese stands for 'orange.' Yuzu has a great range of bento sets. (Bento is like packed food only this time it is served in wooden boxes in Japanese restaurants) Their prices are reasonable, starting off at around RM28 to RM45. The bento sets come with a choice of either unagi or fish/ sashimi (I don't think they have chicken sets yet) and all sets have miso soup, tempura, 3 mini slices of sashimi and side fruits and veggies. The other stuff on the menu are equally good as well. The sushi they serve are extremely fresh thus one needs a bit of patience while waiting for your meals as it takes time to prepare really good freshhh sushi. Overall, the restaurant can be given 4 stars out of 5. The ambience is really nice and it is a great place to catch up with a pal as well as to have pleasant conversations. The service is not bad as well. Despite the long wait for the food, the waiters and waitresses are really friendly and helpful.
Craving for some Korean meals??? Then off we go to SOOPONG restaurant (location: Berjaya Times Square, Lower Ground)
Soopong is not just any korean restaurant. It is in fact a Kpop + korean dining place. On the walls of the restaurant are posters of Kpop idols, and most of it are the latest posters from Korea. The music played in the restaurant are the latest songs in the Kpop industry too. On the day I went (a few days ago), Big Bang's Blue and Fantasic Baby were playing! I got a minor shock while chewing on my food hahah~ The food served are good too! I especially love their ddokbukki (umm correct spelling eh?? well it sounds like that ;p) and the sweet pancake! The bimbimbap is equally yummy as well~ Rating?? Another 4 out of 5~ YOu can enjoy good korean food while bobbing your head to cool korean pop beats~ (ummm that's what I saw other costumers did... hahah~ Some even sang mind you~)
Other Japanese restaurants I would like to recommend:
3) Sushi Tei (Tropicana Mall)
Sushi Tei has good udons and tempuras! Their lunch bento sets have a great variety and are at affordable prices too. The only problem with this place is the high service tax that they charge which could be as high as RM11. (0.0)
Overall rating (3.5/5)
4) Sushi Zenmai (One Utama/ The Gardens)
Sushi Zenmai used to be my fav japanese restaurant. Sadly, the queues are REALLY LONG and the service has detoriated greatly. On numerous visits, my food came 30 minutes late and my udon was served cold when it should be hot..... However, the japanese parfaits in this place is still number 1! The green tea parfait is just too good to resist! It comes with macha and vanilla ice-cream, cornflakes, red beans and jelly bits! OOOOOO it's soooo good! Perhaps one day I shall take a picture of it and paste it in my blog for you guys to see and drool! hehehe~
Overall rating (3/5)
So there you have them~ Good and relatively good japanese and korean places to eat. I apologise for the limited options of Korean restaurants I gave as I have only recently begun to appreciate Korean food~ I shall explore more Korean restaurants and cafes in the future and recommend them to you guys~ Sayonara dear readers and have a good time this week! Kamsa Hamida~

BAck to STUDYdom
Bonjour mes amis~
After 3 long weeks of holidays, I'm finally back here in my cozy little room in Multimedia University... The first day of a new semester is always the hardest for me... First of all, I had an 8am class on a Monday morning. Later I had another 2 hour lecture at 12pm which was then followed by a Microeconomics lecture at 3pm.... Total studying hours: 6 hours on your first day of of a new semester... Yiiiaiiii!
I also had a meeting at 8pm today. The japaneses cultural society were discussing about their upcoming Japan Fest and the workshops they were going to hold during the festival... The meeting was.... slow and ummm... well... just typically unorganized... I can't blame the seniors or committee heads for the outcome of the meeting but they seriously need to be a bit more organized and interested in explaining what the event was fully about and what exactly was needed. As a fellow junior I was a bit bored and rather disappointed at how the first meeting of the semester turned out... haih...
So yea... this semester is a short semester... 8 weeks in total with 3 subjects to be aced! That is no easy task I tell you... Everything is placed on fast-forward mode with things moving so swiftly that you might not even know what has just happened... It's gonna be tough and I know it will not be easy... But I accept this challenge and I hope to be able to survive it with a sane mind haha~
I will be blogging whenever I can... I will be posting up random things (some may not even be related to Asian fashion... I apologise...) but it may take some time~ So please bear with me~
So this has been Rin on her first day in uni in her second semester~

A tale of the orange Kitty
My neighbour has a cat... An orange kitty that conveniently comes over to our house, sleeps on our cars (even bellow them on much hotter days), sunbathes on our porches and secretly creeps into our living room once in a while. This cat is a very lazy kitty but he sure is unique amongst his feline species.
McCrispy (as my sister calls him) is the cat's given name in my family (it's real name is something else... definitely not McCrispy). My sister decided to call it McCrispy after the famous McDonalds burger... To be very honest, I never questioned her as to why she chose such a name for the cat...It just popped up... One day she just told me "McCrispy's here again rin..." I was blur of course, but seeing the cat dashing past us made me understand that the cat's new name is McCrispy~ Ever since then, the cat Mr McCrispy has been named and called such a name in this household.
Mr McCrispy has this peculiar hobby or fetish. He loves stalking our Chinese neighbour's pet dog. There is this brick wall separating our house and our Chinese neighbours, but this wall has a gate to ease our entrance into each other's home if we needed to visit each other. (The things good neighbours do ;p) However this gate was sealed shut using some metal sheets a few years ago because their dog started coming into our garden and caused a ruckus. So yea... the gate that once joined the two households is now a metal shield that protects us against our neighbour's very active hound.
SO this metal shield did not completely cover up the whole gate in the wall. It has a hole; small but sufficient to act as a peeping hole for dear Mr McCrispy. He goes to this little hole EVERYDAY. It sits there, and sometimes sleeps right next to the hole without a care of the world! It knows the dog resides in the neighbours house, and it knows the dog's 'spot' is right next to the hole as well. Despite all the menacing barks of the dog, the cat just sits at his little corner near the wall, not even moving an inch even when he can see the dog approaching him from the other side. It has a cool attitude towards the hound.
The weird becomes weirder with this cat. Whenever the dog barks, the cat runs from his home and immediately goes to spy on the dog. Bark bark and there you go: Little orange furball at the gate with a curious stare. It's quite funny actually. Imagine seeing this orange flash across your yard charging itself to peep at his mortal enemy; the DOG! Quite recently, McCrispy has been so daring that it actually poked its head through the hole to get a better look at the dog. The dog becomes hesteric of course, but the cat doesn't seem to bother about it. Whenever the dog dashes towards the cat's peeping head, McCrispy casually withdraws his tiny head and just sneers at the dog's desparate try to also poke his head through the gate. Unfortunately for the dog, his head is just too big to fit through...

going korean on the hair~
When watching korean dramas and movies, do you notice their hair accessories??? It's really trendy and colourful, often ranging from big bows, mini clips to over decorated hairbands~ Although some of the hair stuff don't match their outfits, the koreans still manage to pull off cute and sweet styles~ These hair accessories are eye catchers that give out that cute yet girly vibe that korean girls are so famous for. So wanna grab that korean look for your hairstyles?? It's not hard at all~ U must first get yourself a really colourful/cute hair accessory~ In this blog post, we'll start with korean hair clips~
This clip is actually the size of my hand! It's that BIG! Some people don't dare to wear such clips on their hair as they might think that it's too eye-catching... but hey! Fashion is all about catching eyes!!! This bow clip goes really well with light coloured hair due to it's colour. Dark coloured clips go well with light coloured hair (light brown, blondes, silver) and light coloured ones suit dark coloured hair (black, dark brown, night blue). I bought this clip while I was at Berjaya Times Square in a shop called Korea Fashion. This clip was so big that I just had to have it!!! Hahaha~ The clip costs RM15 which is not bad considering it's humongous size!
The pic above shows a mini ribbon clip~ It came in all sorts of colours and in all sorts of patterns. The one I have above is with a lace and a purple polka dotted ribbon. This clip looks great with plain coloured dresses and skirts as they are just sooo colourful. Mine is rather plain looking compared to the other ones in the shop where I bought this.
Shop name: Hebe
Location: Ikano power center, mutiara damansara (next to the money changer in LG)
A korean lady and her husband own this shop. They have really interesting korean hair accessories and I especially love their hairband range! Their mini clip selection is so wide that it'll drive you nuts for more!!!
About a month or two ago, a korean hair accessory shop by the name 'Da Louis' opened up in Sunway. It has really pretty hair stuff as well as necklaces and rings! I bought the pink clip above as it looks really feminine and girly~ Da Louis specializes in more sweet looking accessories and their ranges are not colourful but rather focuses on pastel coloured things (like light pink, peach, beige). Most of the stuff they have are gold in colour~ So wanna look bling bling?? Check out Da Louis and their bling bling accessories!!!
There's definitely more where those came from and there are loads more to choose from as well~ So what are you waiting for? Grab a korean hair clip today~ Looking cuter has not been more easy~

MARCH-ing in~
Want some cool japanese girls to rock your world?? Then please welcome our March artist of the month: Japanese Graphic Designer FEEBEE~
With a twist of modern meets traditional japanese, Feebee brings out beautiful artworks of mainly girl characters. An important aspect of her drawings is that she intends not to draw them as beautiful as possible, but to express their inner world (i.e. their stories and tales).
"They are strong and beautiful, but gentle. I capture the best moment of the girls and I put all my spirit into that one moment. Please feel it through my art"- Feebee
Feebee's art is both complex and beautiful, capturing not just the hearts of japanese enthusiasts like me but also managing to enrapture those who admire art for their stories behind each and every piece. Her collection diverses in colours as each colour used in her artwork represents a feeling or emotion. Red can be for passion as well as bravery, blue for clamness and tranquility and green for nature or possibly for envy. The shade of each colour too brings a different meaning to the stories told.
Haven't had enough of her beautiful artworks yet??? Then feel free to check her out at www.feebee.jp or Google up her images as they are just so breathtaking!
Can you tell and feel the stories behind each and every picture? :) Everyone may have a different interpretation of it but that is what makes art all the more beautiful and interesting~ Show your friends the pictures and ask them what do they think or come up with a story of your own for some fun~ ;D
Cheerio~ This is Rin signing out on the first day of MARCH~
