In need of good desserts which are small light and easy?? :D

Then 'Mochi Sweets' is the best place to be~!

These mini confectionaries are a must try! They are cold, creamy and reallllllyyyy yummmy! The best part is that there are tons of flavours to choose from! (Sakura, peach, red bean, black sesame, chestnut, blueberry, strawberry, yam)

For those who are not familiar with what 'mochi' is here is a very brief introduction to this mini delicacy:
Mochi are japanese desserts often in the shape of small balls made from glutinous rice pounded into paste. This paste is then molded into the 'mochi' shape that you see above~! Mochi balls are chewy and the filling are either creamy or pastelike~

Mochi Sweets is a japanese dessert food chain that sells these delightful mochi!
In Malaysia Mochi Sweets can be found at 1Utama, Sunway Pyramid and Pavillion (Tokyo Street). (Soon to be opened in Genting) The mochi prices range at RM3.50 a piece but if you buy a box of 6 the price is about RM22.

Kpop Krazyyyy Weekend

The rise of Kpop into the international arena of music springs no wonder to fans all over the world. Kpop is colourful, LOUD, entertaining and always finding new ways to surprise fans and viewers alike.

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of korean pop group 2pm~ but lately my kpop fetish has gone quite out of control with the rise of new 'baby' boy and girl groups that just make you stop and stare, and later go "aaa this group is actually not bad..." Without me even realizing it, I'm actually constantly eyeing for these new idols' progress and cannot stop hearing their songs as well as watching their videos these days... yes... kpop is that addictive... *sigh*

A group that has recently been very appealing to me (aside from 2pm~) is the cute and colourful boy group  B1A4.

The very essence of B1A4 is their ability to turn anything (and I mean anything!!) into cuteness, although the group may have not been aiming for cuteness in the first place. Take for example, their song 'Beautiful Target'. This song completely blew me away when I heard it the first time. The parts "I like it, like it like it!" were so addictive that I ended up singing it whenever I felt extremely happy or whenever I did something that pleased myself. Hahaha~ The music video played a huge influence on my addiction too. The scenes brimming with colourful backgrounds, eye-catching costumes and not to mention the adorable characters of the boys in this music video was enough to make me say "This group rocks!"
 * Kpop has a way of either putting a song to glory with its amazing videos or either completely ruining it with music videos that didn't make sense or were just toooo disturbing... In my past cases, most of the not-so-appealing videos just did not make sense or just had no story which could actually relate to the song being sang in the video. I won't name any songs here for the sake of saving you the time of not checking these music videos out.
Anyway back to B1A4, ...yes B1A4 are cute and they are effortlessly cute! They don't need to show excessive aegyo (a korean term for cuteness) to portray their cheeky little boy characters~ They are naturally or should I say made to have that cute korean boy image~ Their latest song released this week (Baby Good Night) is also a track which would make fangirls scream with excitement~

The song is not your typical singing and dancing kind of song that kpop is so famous for. The song is sung with a style of whispering, a truly wonderful song to hear before you hit the bed~ It's calming and soothing~ Plus it's a pop ballad that would leave you singing along to the chorus even in your most sleepy state :p haha~

Boy group VIXX is a new addition to the large number of male idols already existing in the Kpop world. Although it often takes time for new groups to make way into the heart of fans, VIXX is one rookie group that did it with a good start!
VIXX's members were initially introduced through a reality program called Mnet Mydol. This reality program had already highlighted the boys' talents and strong points, giving them a strong following even before these boys came out into the world as idols. Good technique I must say as it lessens the need for massive advertising and promoting.

Their debut song 'super hero' actually has some resemblance to 2pm's 'Take Off.' I'm not sure what made me think that way, but I guess you could say it was the background beats. The chorus of 'Super Hero' is not extremely catchy, but it sticks to you after a while. It's smooth for a chorus which is often lacking in current newbie songs. This boy group may not excell in dance moves as portrayed by groups like B.A.P but it's also probably because the music video did not do the boys justice in the dancing scene. The MV (music vid) focused more on showing off the boys charms possibly to catch the fans hearts first before showing off the other sets of talents of the boys. Although the MV was dance lacking (in my opinion) I did however enjoy the visuals shown and the whirling concept of the boys going upside down. Rather similar to U-kiss' Binguel Binguel video, VIXX's one is more colourful and with their official 'logo' (the robot knight) popping out once in a while in cartoon-y backgrounds. They are definitely a group worth watching out for~

JYP's latest pop duo JJ Project also started off with a bang! Their debut song 'Bounce' is ranked high on various music charts and download sites which is a great achievement for a starter group. JB and JR, trainees under JYP Entertainment, both starred in the popular drama series Dream High 2 and have been gaining much love from fans since then.

'Bounce' is fierce, catchy and addictive to the ears. It is a solid debut song (as expected by the composer Park Jin Young) and is filled with unexpected beats. I didn't expect a pop song to suddenly have rock music in the middle, a technique which was used in JJ Project's Bounce! Applause to the song composer and singers for making it sound so good! JYP's experiment with new music styles in JJ Project has definitely been a success and a pleasant surprise.

If Bounce wasn't enough to drive you crazy, then their follow up track 'Before The Song Ends' featuring Suzy from Miss A, is a song that will. This song is equally as fierce as Bounce and is a really good dance track! In fact, I listened to this song more than I heard Bounce, which shows my preferrence for dance songs~ (sorry for this biasness of mine). Overall, JJ Project's debuting album is GOOD and to top it off, the music video was entertaining as well~ A mixture of dancing, popping, bobbing and much more awaits those who are to see the video in the future~! (This only applies to those who have not seen the video that is~ haha)

I guess that shall be all for Kpop for now~ I have loads more songs and groups to recommend, but I guess those shall have to wait for some other time~
I hope you enjoyed my suggestions and reviews! See you all in the future with more Kpop pleasure~

There is a storm outside

There is a storm outside,
with the thunder crashing and the lightning flashing.

There is a storm outside,
with the people running and the street lights blinking.

There is a storm outside,
where the traffic conditions worsen; impatient drivers honk and honk.

Nothing of these actions of course, can stop the storm outside.

The storm outside does not get any better,
there are power cuts and people start complaining about the indoor heat.

But hey, would you have rather been in the storm outside?

People scream when they see lightning,
People scream when they have no lights.
Ironic, but that is the way of life...

There is a storm outside,
I sit inside wondering what the world outside feels like.

There is a storm outside,
I sit inside knowing that I am safe and knowing that the storm outside would eventually subside.

The Singapore Stop

Hey heyya everyone~!
Last weekend was a complete blast cause I had a trip down to the land of the roaring lion, Singapore~
Weekends in Singapore can be very hectic- not only traffic wise but also shopping wise hahaha~ There were many shoppers rushing about and during the peak hours of the day- lunch and dinner especially, most restaurants were either full or totally packed with people! (Packed like a sardine can!!)

I started my Singapore journey in Ion Orchard, a nice mall that goes way underground and has tons of shops! The place is HUGE and one with a bad sense of direction will defintely have a hard time finding their point of destination in this place. This wasn't my first time here in Ion Orchard. In fact it was my 3rd time :) I truly missed this place!!! One good thing about Ion is that it is connected to the MRT, so transportation to this shopping paradise is made easy peasy~  Thus the crowd of shoppers there was immense!!!

My favourite stop in Ion is it's bookshop 'Prologue' which is located on the 4th floor~ it has a really good range of interesting books and vibrant stationaries! The 'Gorjuss' stationary collection on the 2nd floor of this bookshop is amazingly adorable! Have a peek at the pics below!
The Gorjuss stationary collection- notebooks, pens, diaries, bottles, boxes, bags and more
Bought these mini button badges for $7 (singapore dollars). There are many other designs aside from this set that you see in the picture.

 Sticky notes booklet.
The notebook I bought had a mini compartment inside and it even comes with a pen and bookmark. The pages are all coloured and have different patterns for different sections.

Ion Orchard has so many other stationary shops with interesting stuff. Among them is Kiki, which is a Swedish stationary collection with wonderful scrapbooks and photo albums.

Another shop worth visiting was Artbox, a korean entertainment shop with clothes, bags, keychains, stationaries and hair accesories from Korea~ The clothes in Artbox are super cute! I especially liked their hoodies and mini tees (I'm sorry I couldn't take a picture of the apparels... there were just tooooo many people in the shop...)
I bought this mini folder from Artbox at $4.80. It can open up like a book enabling more storage space weeee~ There are 3 other designs with girls, dogs and some other colourful animal characters.

The food court in the basement area is also a good place with many japanese desserts! It was a Japanese desserts heaven with all sorts of ice-cream, cookies, pancakes and muffins! Milca, a small ice-cream booth has the best macha (green tea) ice-creams ever! Super smooth and with crispy wafer cones! There are now dango ice-creams and that too is oooo sooo gooood!

Milca was also selling some stuff called 'ice dogs' which seemed pretty popular with the Singaporeans. Perhaps I should try it next time :)

In the evening, I took a stroll down to Takashimaya and had a good browse through their things. Again, the stationaries there were super cute! They had these small Kutushita Nyanko sticky booklets with cat recipes and cat stories! It was too irresistable! I bought 2 booklets and of different designs~ :

There in Takashimaya as well, they had the 'Gorjuss' stationary collection but with a limited number of things than Prologue's collection.

There were just sooo many things going on in Singapore that spending just one day here totally drained me (but in a good way~). Isetan is having a special Japanese fashion showcase till next week if I am not mistaken... it has a whole load of trendy Japanese apparels and shoes! If you are a fan of Japanese fashion, you should check it out!!!
I've got good news for those going to Singapore and those who are already in Singapore- The Singapore sales start this week!!! So dear shoppers in Singapore, have a good shopping trip and doo dooo dooo spend wisely~ :)

This has been Rin's one day stop to Singapore's shopping district Orchard road~ I can't wait to go to the other places in Singapore one day! Marina sands would be next on my list heheheeh~

Till then~ Au revoir mes amis!

A picture taken is a picture of many things

A picture resembles a thousand thoughts, ideas and meanings.

The initial source of inspiration came from this ordinary glass of water below.

It's amazing how simple a picture can be taken, but interpreted in a 101 ways.
A simple picture taken without any particular intention, can become a source of great inspiration.

Blue music buddy

Just a few days ago, I told myself, "no more buying stuff you do not need!" Problem is, sticking to these sort of self-warnings just never seem to work for me... *big sigh*

I recently bought myself a pair (? are headphones considered a pair????) of blue turqoise headphones from Isetan One Utama, Malaysia. Being the colour freak that I am, the moment I caught sight of such wonderful headphones, I knew I just HAD to HAVE them!!!!
The sound system of the WEZC headphones (as they are called) is seriously not that bad. In fact, it is as good as the current URBANEARS' set that I have. The Wezc headphones come in all sorts of colours ranging from : Pearl white, black, fire red, turqoise, and green. Although the rest of the colours were equally pretty, my love for turqoise-sy things just made me pick the set you see in the pictures without any hesitation.

Beautiful colour isn't it??? It's rare indeed to find blue coloured music headgears.

Along with these two music companions, I now listen to my music with good quality melodies as well as with a colourful style~ :D haha~

*Wezc headphones can be found in Isetan One Utama's 1st floor near the watch section.

KKASI Stationary

Wanna have a feisty kitty accompanying you when you take down your notes or write down your daily shedules??? Then Kkasi is the perfect companion for you~~~

Kkasi the cat is a notebook collection currently available in bookstores around Malaysia. So far the collection can be found in MPH stores. The notebooks come in mini pocket sizes and there also dairies as well.

Below are the notebooks in stock at MPH bookstores~:

KKasi triple notebook colletion comes in a set of 3 mini notebooks and all of its pages are coloured. The notebooks come with different cover designs as well. The set costs about RM14.90 which a very reasonble price for this mini coloured notebook collection.

Kkasi's mini dairy isn't exactly very mini to be honest. It is slightly smaller than an A4 notebook and is quite thick. There is only a single cover design for the diaries, which is this cheeky Kkasi playing with this terrified 'creature of the wood'. The pages are also coloured, with mini Kkasi's on each page~
These Kkasi characters can be found on each page of the mini notebook collectionas well as diaries. Although Kkasi's character is grumpy, lazy and feisty, you cannot resist having this cat stationary collection! Go and have a look out for this cat and have fun jotting down notes with Kkasi by your side~

Back after a LONGGG hiatus

Hey hey Everyone~ How have you all been????
Man, it's been a while since I blogged... 'My Name is Rin' has become rather dusty uhuk uhuk~~~~ I shall clean it up immmmeeeediatelyyyy!

May has been an increadible month so far~ I watched 3 superb movies! I guess I shall put some reviews here for you guys, so that you can check it out or maybe watch it for yourselves~ *Beware, this blog post may contain spoilers :p ahaahahahaha* Aside from reviews, I shall also post some activities and events happening in May~ Hopefully these events shall interest you cause it definitely made me super excited! har har har

Okie Movie reviews here we gooo~

Movie num. 1: The Avengers
I admit, this was a GREAT movie! It was not only action-packed but it was also filled with hillarious scenes! This movie caught my full attention at the very beginning, and made me glued to my seat until the very end (I tried my very best not to go to the loo cause it was THAT good).
I liked how all the characters had their own parts and roles in this film (although Tony Stark was sort of the main dude in the movie hahah) and bits of each characters' pasts were slowly revealed along the way, making viewers that have not seen the previous Thor, Captain America and Iron Man series not to lose out in the story at all. In a sense it had both the past and present shown in this movie which I thought was a very clever tactic by the director to make viewers fall in love with their favourite superheroes all over again~ Renewed love or admiration as they say~ kekeekekekeke
I truly think that the Avengers deserve a 5 star rating, cause it did make me go WOW throughout the whole movie.

Movie num. 2: Safe
If you like the sound of gunfire and mafia gang fights, then this is the perfect movie for you~ This movie has a blend of Chinese, Russian and American cultures and to top it all off, it was a blend of mafia business cultures! There were lots and I mean LOTS of gang fights, shoot outs and killings in this movie. And the Chinese 11 year old girl (Mei) saw all of it happening right in front of her eyes! Man, imagine experiencing something like that at such a fresh age. Being a genius 11 year old is not always fun and dandy. You get kidnapped on your way home from school, forced into memorizing numbers and market values for a scary Chinese mafia gang leader and then captured and chased around a city in the US by Russian mobsters and American cops... WOOOO.... The best part is, Mei befriends this ex-American cop with incredible shooting and fighting skills in this movie. So what caused the relationship between Mei and Luke (the ex cop) to sprout? What made the girl so precious to these men? Well now~ U gotta watch the movie to find out~ heeeheee~
Overall, the storyline was impressive. The little bond between Luke and Mei really touched me, and the dark disturbing truths of the mafia world and political corruption made this movie even better~ :) I would rate it 4 stars.

Movie num. 3: War of the Arrows (Korean)
This movie was actually released a year ago under a different name (Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon). It was very popular in Korean movie charts and later gained international recognition. I found this movie to be one of the best historical korean movies of all time. It doesn't have your typical war movie ending (peace is gained, lovers reunited... etc etc) which to me was a major bonus for this film.
The sister-brother bond and husband and wife loyalty portrayed in this film was very heart tugging- imagine your brother fighting with just a bow and some arrows through swarms of enemies just to get you safely home and your husband sacrificing his all in order to be reunited with you (his wife) despite being in a different hostage camp miles away.
The arrow duels were also amazing to watch. The normal war movies I have watched have mainly sword fights and the typical charge and attack strategies. But this movie was about a chase between 2 parties from different sides, using bow and arrows as the main weapon of destruction!
I rate this movie another 4 stars cause it was unique in storyline and battle methods.

So what do you think of my reviews?? It was my first try at reviewing movies~ Hopefully it'll get better in the future :D

Now then, activities and events of the month of May:

1) Mother's DAY
Are you guys ready to spend this special day with your moms??? getting presents are not the only things you can do for you mom on her 'day'... Just spending some quality time talking to her, watching dramas/movies/tv shows together, or even having/preparing a meal for her are just some of the simple meaningful gestures that also shows just how much she means to you~ Sometimes being simple can truly make a person happy :)

2) U-kiss at Hari Belia 25th May
Location: Putrajaya, Malaysia
A free concert for all Kissmes out there!!!!!!! But I warn you of the crowds though~

3) Block B at Kenanga Mall, Kuala Lumpur -26th May
A little surprise for Block B fans out there~ Your boys are coming to Malaysia!!! Details about this event can be found in Block B Malaysia Fans on Facebook~

Alright then folks~ I hope that you enjoyed my blog post after such a long hiatus. Sorry if it seems rather bland... my blogging brain has not yet quite activated itself especailly when I am fresh from my final exams hahah~  I promise i'll bring in more events and interesting feeds in the future~ till then Toodles~ and take care~~~
