stop and LOOK! (U-kiss Stop Girl Comeback)

And they are back! With the release of their latest mini album STOP GIRL, U-kiss is ready to top music charts and grab the hearts of listeners and fans worldwide!

Stop Girl is one comeback that suits U-kiss well in terms of style. It's not too rappy, it's not too techno, it's not too boyish either~ In fact, this new style they portray in Stop Girl exudes maturity (a style rather lacking in many kpop groups nowadays). They introduced the song in two different music videos (one in black and white, and the other in colour). In my opinion, I like the B&W video way more than the coloured one~ It was mysterious like a spy movie and since most of the props and outfits used in the video were black and white, it is reasonable enough that a B&W video suited the comeback more~ A B&W video is also less distracting than most colourful kpop music videos of today~ If too much colour were to be used in a music video the viewers attention is not focused on the members but on the blinding colours instead.
Although AJ is not present in this return, the boys' voices really came out well in this song choice. The beginning of the song started off strong with Hoon's angel-like voice and to my surprise, black horse Kiseop followed up with his own part with an improved vocal~ Way to go Kiseop!!! :D Kevin's vocals fit really well with this song as well especially the parts where he takes over the chorus~

With AJ's absence, Dongho finally has more rapping scenes~ It is not easy to have a group with too many rappers... especially if it is a ballad-pop group like U-kiss. Groups that are made up of many rappers such as Block B and BAP tend to have that swagger style which does not fit U-kiss at all. So personally, I find that less rap is better for U-kiss although less rap means less of Eli, Dongho and AJ... :( (please don't hate me Eli, Dongho and AJ lovers).  Because of the little rap sections I feel that the presence of the rapping members less in Stop Girl's  song and performances, which is a sad thing really cause I know that all of them worked really really hard for this comeback... U-kiss must figure out a way to make all members 'shine' in both songs and performances to become a great Kpop group that outshines the gazillion others.

U-kiss' new mini album also comes with the English version of Stop Girl. It is sang fully in English and to my delight, the English is understandable and clear~ I like listening to the English version because being a non-Korean speaker, I can actually understand what the song is about without having to see the subbed lyrics. Thumbs up to U-kiss for creating the English-fied version of a really good song~

Overall, Stop Girl is a song that is worthy of the top positions in music charts. It is simple, and like sugar to the ears of listeners~ There is nothing distracting in the song in terms of melody, and I must say the harmonization of the members' voices can be heard really well in this single compared to past songs like Believe, Neverland, and Dora Dora. I would rate this single 4/5~
